
The Russian government has agreed a deal that would allow more than 60 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine to be produced in China. This was conveyed by the Russian sputnik V vaccine developer on Monday (29/3).
As reported by AFP on Monday (29/3/2021) Russia’s Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which finances vaccine development, said it and a Chinese company, Shenzhen Yuanxing Gene-tech Co. has agreed to cooperate on the production of more than 60 million doses of Sputnik V in China. Ekonomi Rusia
RDIF says that the amount of the vaccine will be enough to vaccinate about 30 million people. It was stated that production would begin in May.
“The collaboration with Shenzhen Yuanxing Gene-tech will enable us to produce Sputnik V in China, thereby increasing our capacity to supply additional quantities as we see an increase in demand for Russian vaccines globally,” RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev said in a statement.
